Docents

Volunteer docents are critical members of the museum staff allowing us to keep our doors open to the public throughout the week. Responsibilities include:

1. Welcoming visitors and handling admissions fees/gift shop sales.
2. Communicating historical background of the museum and building to guests.
3. Assist with research, collection maintenance, and special projects.

The museum strives to be open from 10 am to 5 pm on Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Shifts would be scheduled during that time at the volunteer's convenience.

Skills

1. Good communication skills and ability to work well with the public.
2. Interest in collections, history of pharmacy and Louisiana history.
3. Excellent for pre-med and pre-pharmacy students and anyone with an interest in history.
4. Should be available to schedule the same two or four hour shift per week and make a three month commitment
